Department of Graphics & Multimedia
The Department of Graphics & Multimedia (G&M) equips students to design, animate, and communicate compelling visual stories across print, web, mobile, and interactive media. Blending creative practice with technical depth, our curriculum spans visual communication, branding, UI/UX, motion graphics, 2D/3D animation, game-ready assets, VFX, digital photography, sound design, and immersive media.
Students learn industry workflows—from concept and pre-production to production and post—building a portfolio that is creative, ethical, and market-ready.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Graduates of the G&M program will:
- Create high-quality visual and interactive media that solve real communication and product-design problems for organizations and communities.
- Enter the creative industries (or graduate study) as ethical, entrepreneurial professionals—adaptable to local and global markets.
- Demonstrate strong visual thinking, design research, and critical analysis using contemporary tools, pipelines, and standards.
- Integrate cultural awareness and Islamic values into design practice to support nation-building, responsible storytelling, and social cohesion.
- Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
Upon completion, students will be able to:
Design Foundations: Apply principles of design, color, typography, layout, composition, and storytelling to communicate ideas effectively.
Digital Tools Mastery: Use industry tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud; Blender/Maya for 3D; After Effects/Premiere for motion; Figma for UI) to produce professional assets.
2D/3D Production: Plan and execute pipelines including concept art, storyboarding, modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and compositing.
Motion & VFX: Create motion graphics and visual effects with attention to timing, cinematography, sound, and post-production finishing (color grading, audio mix).
UI/UX & Interactive: Design user interfaces and experiences; prototype and evaluate interactive products using usability testing and HCI methods.
Web & Media Delivery: Prepare assets for multi-platform delivery (web, social, mobile, print) with correct formats, compression, accessibility, and performance considerations.
Game & Real-Time Assets: Produce optimized models, textures, and animations suitable for real-time engines; understand basic integration workflows.
Project Management & Collaboration: Plan, manage, and deliver creative projects in teams using briefs, schedules, version control, and review cycles.
Ethics, IP, & Culture: Practice ethically with respect to copyright, licensing, AI-assisted creation, data/privacy, and culturally respectful representation.
Communication: Present concepts and finished work clearly to clients and stakeholders—in writing, visually, and verbally.
Lifelong Learning: Evaluate emerging tools (e.g., procedural, generative, and XR tech) and maintain continuous professional development.
Portfolio & Entrepreneurship: Curate a professional portfolio, respond to briefs, price work responsibly, and pursue freelance or studio opportunities.
- Completion of secondary school with a minimum overall average of 50%
- Should bring the original and a copy of secondary school certificate
- Should bring Six (6) passport size photos with white background
- Should bring the original copy of a letter of good conduct issued by your secondary school
- Should bring a sponsorship letter from your guardian
- Should successfully pass an admission interview and/or test
- Pay non-refundable Processing and ID card fees of USD $50 (bank draft)

STUDENTS FEES PAYMENT POLICY
This policy applies to all students, these include: part-time and full-time for both undergraduate and postgraduate and any other person enrolled as a student at the University:
- Option one: At the beginning of the semester, all semester fees can be paid in full.
- Option two: At the beginning of the semester, students should pay 30% of semester fees before he/she registers for the class. In the second installment, 40% of the semester fees should be paid before the midterm exam. The remaining 30% of the semester fees should be paid before the final exam.
- After payments of second and third installments, students are eligible to get their clearance cards for midterm and final exams.
- Fees Collector officer will be responsible to check fees default when he/she gets a report from the head of the cash unit.
- SU will not refund any fees paid unless the student has no remaining semester.
- Students and sponsors who unintentionally or intentionally deposit fees will not be refunded but will be forwarded to the next semesters.
- Upon graduation period, all extra fees balance should be refunded to the students.
- Any student who temporarily or permanently breaks his/her study can request an extra fee refund.
- Head of Cash Unit should check the activities of the sponsors.

The SU academic year consists of 42 weeks split into two semesters of 18 weeks each, the first beginning in August.
